What is a Blended Rate?
A blended rate is an interest rate on a loan that represents the
combining of a previous rate and a new rate. The rate is calculated for
the borrower to receive an additional loan without fully repaying the
previous one. They will borrow from the equity accrued in the home
which is the difference between the value of the home and the
remaining balance of the first mortgage. The process includes
submitting an application and meeting the requirements of the second
mortgage.
What is a Second Loan?
A second loan is a type of mortgage that allows homeowners to borrow
against the equity they have built in their home, without losing the
interest rate on their first mortgage. When used as a cash-out refinance
option, borrowers can obtain 100% of the funds that can be used for
home renovations, debt consolidation, tuition, funding a business, or
other responsible uses.
